Our Business Turned Two!

On August 18, 2021, I formed On The Nose, LLC, and I set out to build my own company and be my own boss. With my fifteen years of professional experience and two degrees in communications and public relations, I left the full-time nonprofit world and launched a business I’m really proud of.

In the first two years, here’s what I’ve accomplished:

  • I published my memoir, which earned an award for Best First Book and has sold about 300 copies (already beating the average lifetime sales for self-published books: 250)

  • I’ve worked with clients who are doing great things for the world, including housing and feeding people in need and transforming our energy and food systems. I’ve brought in more eyeballs with good searchable web content, raised money through compelling email campaigns, and provided pinch-hitting when they needed a helping hand.

  • I’ve put more of a focus on comedy, and after moving to a new state last year I've begun working back up to featuring.

  • I ended my first two tax years in the green. And I’m the one doing all the back-end and administrative tasks (bookkeeping, tax filing, etc), which don't come naturally to me and are often intimidating.

  • I’ve been interviewed on several podcasts and radio shows, including some of the top-rated pet podcasts like Believe in Dog and Covered in Pet Hair.

  • I launched my own podcast, Paws for Effect, and recorded and edited four quality episodes in Season 1.

  • I published two free guides: one for people with senior dogs and one for those who have lost a pet.

Here’s to two more years and many more beyond that. 🥂
