Writing and Design Samples

I’m proud to have worked with the following organizations—and others—to make the world a better place.

Check out these samples to see what I can do for you.

Social media graphics: Farm Forward

From April 2023 until July 2024, I managed social media and newsletter communications for Farm Forward, a nonprofit organization working to end factory farming.

I created these four Instagram graphics to promote the organization’s newsletter, press coverage, campaigns, and publications.

Social media graphics: Dairy Deception campaign

During my time working with Farm Forward, the organization published its investigation of a so-called “humane,” “organic,” and “regenerative” dairy operation, in which whistleblower photos and interviews revealed systematic and widespread abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of animals.

I created these four graphics, among many others, to raise awareness of the investigation and promote engagement with the campaign.

Landing page text: solar co-ops

Solar United Neighbors is a non-profit that helps people all over the country to get solar panels installed on their homes. Its solar co-ops bring neighbors together to learn about solar and get their systems installed at a discounted group rate.

I rewrote the text of the landing pages, simplifying the concepts and outlining the most important benefits to readers.

The description begins with the line, “Imagine walking into a solar company’s office with 50 or 100 of your neighbors and saying, ‘We all want to get solar. What kind of deal can you give us?’”

Solicitation letter text: Vegan Outreach

Vegan Outreach educates people about vegan eating and helps them transition their diets and lifestyles. The organization relies on funding from generous donors.

I wrote the year-end solicitation letters, bringing in thousands of dollars. This is one example, from 2019. It includes text like, ”My heart broke when I pictured these piglets enduring the crash. And when I learned they were put back on the truck after being caught, it wrecked me. I know the misery and violence that awaited them at their ‘destination.’”

Social post text: Why Go Veg

Why Go Veg serves up fresh facts for veg-curious folks. As a member of the content team, I draft social media posts that plant seeds online. This post for Human Rights Day and Animal Rights Day is just one example.

“It’s no accident that December 10th is Human Rights Day *and* Animal Rights Day!”
